Best Air Purifier
There is no truly best air purifier. The air purifier that you choose must fit the needs at hand, as well as any
limitations relative to the situation. With that in mind, here are some suggestions.
1) Try to make sure that it has a HEPA filter. The filter is nice by itself, and is a great addition to any other purifier. As it is a great screen for most particulates, taking most of them out even if it’s part of another purifier.
2) Also, try for an ultra-violet system inside the purifier, especially if you get a HEPA filter. This ensures that your purifier will not acquire a mold or bacteria colony, and thus not throw those contaminants into the air you are trying to clean.
3) Debate ozone and ionic purifiers. They have pluses and minuses. Although they are pretty good at purifying the air and carry additional therapeutic advantages, they create potential problems, especially if someone has severely sensitive allergies. Also, ozone purifiers may increase the rate at which rubber and plastic degrade
4) Bigger is not always better. Consider how much air you need to have purified, and debate buying more than one. If you are looking for something just for front room, you may not need as big a unit as if you are trying to purify two or three rooms. At the same time, you may be dealing with constant dust problems, or be dealing with pretty clean air in the first place. Also, you may need differing levels of purification (you may need a back bedroom to very pure, but in the front room you only want to run the purifier every so often).
5) Just be aware that the best air filter is not always the most expensive. Make sure that you read up on air purifiers prior to buying on, so that you feel comfortable with the one you are buying. The goal is to match your needs and requirements, not have the biggest toy.
6) Keep in mind that you can buy different kinds of purifiers for different reasons. You may want a straight HEPA filter for the front room because you like scented candles, and an ozone purifier for a back room because you want to be thorough (such as for a teen-age boy’s room).
The bottom line is that your requirements come before the salesman’s commission. Keep that in mind when you go online or to the store to buy your purifier.
