Quality Air Purifiers

Home Air Purifier

Today’s technology has had an unforeseen side effect on today’s living: the inside of homes has five times as

many pollutants as the air outside. With mold and pet dander contributing, as well dust and smoke, the air outside is actually cleaner than that inside.

There are a number of different methods of air purification and filtration available to homeowners, depending on preference. Fortunately, most purifiers are designed to look nice and are quiet, so they fit in with your decorating style. Energy-efficiency has always been a concern (as most purifiers are on constantly), so they are reasonably efficient. There are other considerations that need to be thought about as well.

The first is that rooms require their own purification because they are cut off from the main room for extended periods of time. Even though some methods will seep to other rooms, it’s a good idea to have several air purifiers to ensure that all rooms are clean.

Also, as some homes are more susceptible to mold than others, that needs to be considered as well, as different purifiers deal with mold with varying levels of efficiency. Some are better against mold spores, and some will help against the mold itself.

Don’t forget about dust. Some homes are in areas that tend to have a lot of dust thrown up into the air, and enter the home. If your air purifier has a filter that must be replaced, then living in a home with a lot of dust ensures that you will be replacing them frequently, which can become part of the cost consideration.

Another potential issue to keep in mind is that some purifiers have effects on the home environment itself. For example, if you like scented candles then be aware that some purifiers that take away smells may also take scents as well. Ozone purifiers are notorious for affecting rubbers and plastics (although they help against mold).

Pets can be something that needs to be allowed for. Some purifiers may affect your pets, as they are smaller and more susceptible to eye and skin irritation than humans. Before buying a purifier, make sure to ask about potential effects on animal life.

All in all, buying an air purifier can be something that makes your life easier, but be aware of any potential drawbacks, no matter how minor, so that you can make the purifier a fit for your lifestyle, and not the other way around.
